Premium Feature
Trial Eligibility is available on Team plans and up.
Trial Eligibility allows your paywall to display different text and content depending on whether the user is eligible for a free trial.
A Free Trial is an offer of 1 or more days to try the product before being charged. A free trial is often a week long but can be set to other intervals. The user is not charged during the trial period and can cancel anytime before the end of the trial.
Click into the Capabilities tab
Find 'Trial Eligibility'
Click 'Add'
By default, when Trial Eligibility is added, new Conditions will be added.
There are 2 types of Eligibility rules: Product Eligible and User Eligible.
A Product is Eligible for a free trial if:
It has a free trial offer live in the store
The current user meets the store criteria for eligibility
A User is Eligible for a free trial if they are eligible for a free trial on ANY of the products on the paywall.
If you have a paywall with 2 products and only the first has an eligible trial, the user is Eligible for a free Trial but the second product is not.
Each store has different logic around how trials are setup.
You can use the Preview Bar to test what your paywall looks like with different eligibility states.
Click the dropdown in the Preview bar and switch from 'Standard Pricing' to 'Free Trial'
The paywall will now be displayed as if all the products are eligible for a free trial.
